About

Nic Spencer has qualifications in liberal arts, philosophy, horticulture, and electrical engineering.  He has had over forty jobs ranging from farm hand and bricklayers’ labourer to keyboard-rattling in the institutions of the public sector.  It troubles him that viewpoints once regarded as common sense are now regarded as belonging on the ‘far right’ of politics.  He shares some of those views.  He also shares some views that are deemed to belong on the ‘left’, and others regarded as ‘green’. Are these justified or unjustified? Are they morally bad, or morally good? Is he a bad man?

We live in confused and volatile times.  While there is a great number of commentators enumerating and describing the problems of this era, there are fewer who discuss the nature of the differences of opinion that rage over these problems apart from crude characterisations such as ‘left’, ‘progressive’, ‘woke’, ‘right-wing’, ‘extreme right wing’, ‘green’, ‘conservative’, ‘socialist’, ‘fascist’, and so on.

Spencer feels that on some issues his views straddle two camps that under the usual political categories are deemed utterly incompatible.  How can this be so?

Such questions are addressed here, but so also are other more practical matters concerned with getting through life as a British subject, the state that Britain finds herself in just now, and the condition of the British people.  We should all be concerned about these things, so please read on and enjoy the site.
