Websites based on the WordPress system, such as this one is, help the reader navigate to desired content by means of ‘categories’ and ‘tags’. An article, or ‘post’, can be included in a category, which is a broad classification, and has tags attached which are more particular. If one thinks ‘men’s shoes’ for a category and ‘brogue, size 9, brown,’ as three tags that specify the shoe, then one sees how the system is supposed to work. It is a question of course as to where to draw the boundary between categories and tags. Both these classifications can be set up hierarchically, with multiple subordinate layers going to finer and finer detail. It depends how far one wishes to go in detailing the content of articles and at what stage the detail becomes unmanageable.

You will find categories under the ‘categories’ heading in the right-hand sidebar.

To find topics of interest, rummage among the tags listed below this text. Click on one to take you to the articles that have been tagged with that topic label. You will find tag and category lists at the foot of the home page, and lists of related tags accompanying relevant posts. Keep an eye out for categories and tags, they will help you find what you want.
